About Song brocade
The costume of APEC leaders is a series of new Chinese clothing which can show Chinese’s fresh image in 2014.Song Brocade, as one of the three types of celebrated brocade in China, it have been declared to be a "WORLD INTANGIBLE HERITAGE" by UNESCO in 2009.
To be one of the brightest treasure of ancient Chinese textile, the weaving skill of Song Brocade is really complicated and difficult. With the complicated weaving skill and its raw material, we are not able to use elecronic machine to make it, some of the weaving process have to be handcraft, and it is the reason why it can not be mass producing. So far, the yield of song brocade per year is less than 50,000yds.
Song Brocade is made by 100% mulberry silk and it is characterized by its bright color, exquisite patterns, and solid but soft texture. Due to its special weaving methods and the lustre of mulberry silk, every color on the fabric is really shiny, and color will be changed if you watch the fabric in different angles.
